Board Meeting Minutes---Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005

 

 

The meeting was called to order by President Elsie Munson at 7:08 pm.  Trustees present:  Evelyn Brefeld, Mary Jo Farrell, Kathy Hughes, Doug Liston, Marilynn May, Elsie Munson, and Director Maria Zawacki.  Trustees absent:  Edna Robel.

 

A motion was made by Mary Jo Farrell, seconded by Doug Liston, and approved unanimously to accept the corrected minutes of the Dec. 14, 2004, meeting. 
Trustees Kathy Hughes and Marilynn May abstained from voting.

 

A motion was made by Mary Jo Farrell, seconded by Kathy Hughes, and approved unanimously to approve payment of the bills in the amount of $30,021.64.  Ayes:  Evelyn Brefeld, Mary Jo Farrell, Kathy Hughes,  Doug Liston, Marilynn May, Elsie Munson.  Nayes:  none.  Absent:  Edna Robel.

 

The Treasurer’s Financial Report was reviewed.  We are 50% thru the fiscal year and everything looks good.  It was noted that the village of Johnsburg has an inflation factor included in the impact fees and that Maria would contact the village clerk of Ringwood to see if that would be possible for them.

 

Committee Reports:  none

 

Correspondence: 

·         A notice of extension of audit deadline

·         Thank you letter from the village regarding the Santa festivities

·         Thank you note from the library staff regarding their christmas gifts

 

Unfinished Business:  none

 

New Business: 

·         Our sympathy to the family of Herb Janzen who passed away on Feb. 5, 2005.  He was the first President of the library board and because of his support and enthusiasm for the library, books on woodworking will be purchased for the library in his memory.

·         The Johnsburg Trade Fair will be on March 19, 2005.
