Board Meeting Minutes---Tuesday, May 9, 2006

The meeting was called to order by President Elsie Munson at 7:00pm. Trustees present: Evelyn Brefeld, Mary Jo Farrell, Kathy Hughes, Kathy Kucik, Elsie Munson, and Director Maria Zawacki. Absent: Edna Robel. Trustee Doug Liston was tardy.

A motion was made by K. Kucik and seconded by K. Hughes to approve the minutes of the April 11, 2006, board meeting. Motion carried.

A motion was made by M.J.Farrell and seconded by K. Kucik approve payment of the bills in the amount of $33,668.70 and $469.98 from the building fund. Motion carried. Ayes: E.Brefeld, M.J.Farrell, K. Hughes, K. Kucik, E; Munson. Nayes: none. Absent: Edna Robel and Doug Liston (tardy).

Treasurer’s Report: we are 5/6 thru the fiscal year….budget stands at 80%.

• 2006 tax distribution dates for 2005 taxes
• FY2007 property tax income---6% increase from this year’s tax money.
• Email regarding Destination Fitness’s “Exercise Your Right to Read” program.
• Letters to the Editor regarding handicapped accessibility
• Rooftop inspection report

New Business:

• A motion was made by D. LIston and seconded by K. Kucik to approve Proposed Working Budget for FY2007. Motion carried.
• A motion was made by M.J. Farrell and seconded by K. Hughes to approve computer purchase request as outlined by Cy…the total not to exceed $4500. Motion carried. Ayes: E. Brefeld, M.J. Farrell, K. Hughes, K. Kucik, D. Liston, E. Munson. Nayes: none. Absent: Edna Robel.
• A motion was made by K. Kucik and seconded by E. Brefeld to approve FY2007 LSTA grant application: ‘Technology Bringing the Arts Alive’ (with one correction). Motion carried.
• A motion was made by E. Brefeld and seconded by M.J. Farrell to approve FY2007 LSTA grant application: ‘Athletes Score!@The Johnsburg Public Library’. Motion carried.
• Review starting salary rates as of 2006.
