Board Meeting Minutes---Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007

The meeting was called to order by President Elsie Munson at 7:00pm. Trustees present: Evelyn Brefeld, Mary Jo Farrell, Kathy Hughes, Kathy Kucik, Doug Liston, Elsie Munson, and Director Maria Zawacki. Trustee Edna Robel was absent.

A motion was made by M.J. Farrell and seconded by K. Kucik to approve the minute of the Dec. 12, 2006, meeting with one correction….change ‘Christmas recognition’ to Holiday recognition. Motion carried.

A motion was made by D. Liston and seconded by K. Hughes to approve payment of the bills in the amount of $34,710.16 (correction on one line item to read ‘holiday’ instead of ‘Christmas’) and $859.96 from the building fund (bulletin boards and display shelves). Motion carried. Ayes: E. Brefeld, M.J. Farrell, K. Hughes, K. Kucik, D. Liston, E. Munson. Nayes: none. Absent: E. Robel.

Treasurer’s Financial Report---1/2 thru the fiscal year….looking good!

Correspondence:

• Thanks from the library staff for the holiday gift cards.
• Letter announcing Virginia Brya’s retirement (she will be missed by everyone!!) a reception for her will be held on Jan. 31^st. A motion was made by D. Liston and seconded by E. Brefeld to send flowers in her honor. Motion carried. Ayes: E. Brefeld, M.J. Farrell, K. Hughes, K. Kucik, D. Liston, E. Munson. Nayes: none. Absent: E. Robel.
• Lawyer’s memo on meeting room use…..our policy will remain as is.
• Audit for FY2006---no action needed at this time….a discrepancy was noted in their report.

Unfinished Business: none

New Business: After review of the application for the Internet E-pay program, a motion was made by D. Liston and seconded by K. Kuick to approve the application. Motion carried.

Director’s Report:

• Gutter work by the back door has been completed
• Thanks to Kurt for putting up the new bulletin boards
• Kudos to Pam for the excellent newsletter!
• The Border’s gift wrap project made $173 for the Katrina Relief Fund
