Since Mrs. Elizabeth Ryan, library director candidate, was present, the board members immediately conducted her official library interview. Zawacki’s leadership style. Contingent upon being hired as Johnburg Public Library’s new library director, Mrs. Ryan is excited to continue her public library service career here, to know the community the library serves, to anticipate the public’s needs, to provide excellent customer service, to make sound budgetary decisions, to keep Johnsburg Public Library current and technologically innovative implementing the library’s major data conversion process, to model after Library Director M. Director’s Report

1.

Light by Johnsburg Road entrance:

Village Engineer, Tim Hartnett said the village has the right of way in the area where we would like to install a light.  He will see about getting an agreement with the village in order to be able to have this done at the library’s expense.  In the meantime Trustee J. Stockwell suggested the library install reflectors.

2.

Staff Recognition Holiday Dinner:

Since Mother Nature delivered a snowstorm on the day of the planned staff outing to Paisano’s, the dinner was cancelled and tentatively re-scheduled for Friday, April 7.  With National Library Week (April 9-15) and an afternoon scheduled all-staff training for the new circulation system it works out well.  All staff is responsible for getting to the courthouse to renew their Voter’s Registrar appointments.

DIRECTOR’S REPORT

January 2017

  1. Light by Johnsburg Road entrance:

Tim Hartnett, the village engineer, said the village has the right of way in the area where we would like to install a light.  He will see about getting an agreement with the village in order to be able to have this done.

  1. Staff Recognition Holiday Dinner:

Of course Mother Nature did not cooperate with us again.  There was a snowstorm the day of the planned staff outing to Paisano’s, so everyone agreed to cancel it.  We’re going to wait until the spring to reschedule it.  Tentative date is Friday, April 7. There is an all-staff training that afternoon for the new circulation system and it times out well with celebrating National Library Week (April 9-15).  Each staff member is responsible for getting to the courthouse to renew their Voters Registrar appointment, since that was also going to take place as a group prior to the dinner outing.
