  1. Library Programs:

I thought it might be a good idea to start attaching to my Director’s Report our website calendar of programs for the current month so you can see the wide variety of activities going on at the library.

  1. School Library Visits:

ALPS is the Applied Learning Programs at Johnsburg High School for special needs students with mild to moderate disabilities.  The students and their aides come to the library once a month for a couple of hours and Heather does a modified “story hour” with them – an easy craft and stories.  They also check out materials while here.  We also have had classes from St. John’s come to the library (in better weather!) since their library is now the size of a broom closet – their words, not mine.  I have also set up a St. John’s library card for them, noting the names of the teachers authorized to use it.  Previously, they were using the principal’s personal library card and it was difficult for her to keep track of what was on her card.

December 2014 statistics:

TOTAL CIRCULATION:  5,357                  AVG. DAILY CIRCULATION:  191

VOLUMES ADDED:             309                            VOLUMES WITHDRAWN:  329

TOTAL VOLUMES:  61,983                         TOTAL PATRONS REGISTERED:  11,562

Respectfully submitted,
