DIRECTOR’S REPORT

January 2014

  1. Library Closings:

Due to the extreme temperatures, the library was closed on January 6 and 7.  Late fees will not be assessed for those days.

  1. New Book Club at High School:

Heather Stewart, our Young Adult Librarian, is starting a new teen book club to be held at the high school on Thursday mornings during Zero Hour.  Zero Hour is at 7:30 a.m. and is like homeroom/study assistance time, but on Thursdays that time is reserved for teacher meetings.  Because the busses must keep the same schedule, students who take the busses have nothing to do during Zero Hour on Thursdays and just “hang out”.  Heather has worked with English teacher Meg Oeffling to do a once-a-month book club during Thursday Zero Hour.  The first meeting is scheduled for January 16.
