DIRECTOR’S REPORT
July 2010

  1. Summer Reading Programs:
We’ve added the Spin and Win wheel that Kurt made for the Business Expo to our summer reading program. Every time an adult or child completes their reading log, they get to spin the wheel for a small prize. The wheel prize is in addition to the bigger prize they receive for turning in their first completed log. The wheel prizes are small things – book bags, pens, bookmarks, snack bag, etc. For obvious reasons, we’ve had to keep a lock on the wheel, which staff has to take off every time someone has earned a spin. The wheel is also a little noisy. I’ll poll staff at the end of the summer to see how they think it worked out overall.
